What a refund wallet is

A refund wallet is the wallet used for failed-payment recovery where a route supports refunding. Refund wallets are most important for one-time deposit address flows because the payer may be sending from a wallet or exchange that is not connected to Parly.

Use a wallet you control

Use a wallet you can sign from. Avoid custodial exchange deposit addresses as refund wallets unless the product explicitly says that path is supported. If you cannot prove control of the refund wallet later, you may not be able to claim a failed-payment refund.

Failed-payment refunds

Refund availability is for failed-payment recovery. It is not a refund guarantee for completed invoices, completed profile payments, delivered services, or private business terms. A payment may become refund-available if it is:
  • underpaid
  • overpaid
  • expired
  • duplicated
  • sent with the wrong asset
  • sent on the wrong network
  • blocked by route or policy checks
  • otherwise unable to settle through the intended route

Claiming a refund

Where refund claiming is available, the refund claimant may need to:
  1. connect the refund wallet
  2. prove wallet control
  3. review the failed-payment details
  4. pay any required network gas or provider cost
  5. submit the refund claim
Parly cannot guarantee recovery for funds sent to the wrong network, wrong address, unsupported asset, expired instruction, or an address not generated by the current flow.

Policy checks

Parly may check refund wallets and routes before allowing a flow to continue. If a refund wallet fails a policy check, choose another wallet you control before generating the payment address.
